Religious Education

At PPS we currently follow the Somerset SACRE 'Awareness Mystery and Value 2019' scheme of work for Religious Education.

During the foundation stage, children begin to explore the world of religion and belief in terms of special people, books, times, places and objects.

In KS1, pupils study Christianity alongside a featured religion, which is currently Islam.

In KS2, pupils cover Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hinduism.

We also cover non-religious worldviews such as Humanism in both KS1 and KS2. Alongside this, we mark other significant religious events and festivals throughout the school year as part of whole-school assemblies and school-wide activities.
