It is an essential element of our curriculum approach to ensure that all children get to spend some school time surrounded by nature, learning new skills and developing their confidence
Each class will take part in at least five Forest School sessions during this academic year. This builds on our existing commitment to outdoor education which saw the introduction of a Year 4 residential as well as the Year 6 outdoor and adventurous week in Saundersfoot, Wales which is long-established.
Forest schools give children the opportunity to explore nature, build their outdoor skills, increase self-esteem and take part in team building activities.
KS1 will be taking part in forest school sessions during PPA time every week. These sessions are organised by a qualified Forest School leader and supported by a TA but in order to increase the experiences on offer we really value volunteer adult helpers supporting us as well. If that could be you, please get in touch.
KS2 will have the opportunity to have both onsite and offsite Forest School sessions, we will be looking for volunteers to come to our offsite experiences. Again please sign up!
