Vision and Values

Learning and Achieving Together

Ambition Statement

Our pupils achieve high academic outcomes with excellent attitudes and behaviour.

We expect everyone to become the best version of themselves, thriving as individuals, and working hard towards personal ambitions.

We lead by example, delivering an ambitious and inspirational curriculum that enables everyone to flourish.

Our school is a happy, safe and inclusive environment for all.

Values

British Values

These are 5 strands that permeate our curriculum offer for all children and are covered in assemblies, through History, RE, PSHE and specific topics or activities. Click here for more information on how we teach and promote British Values. Explicit example of how we deliver these include the school council, our behaviour policy, school rules, celebration of a diverse range of religious festivals, visits from council members and our MP and the use of the parliamentary education service.

School Values

At Portishead Primary School, our values are embedded in our vision. A value is a principle that guides our thinking and our behaviour. Our values are:

  • Aspiration
  • Inclusion
  • Kindness
  • Respect
  • Teamwork

Every individual is valued for who they are and what they contribute to the school. Values support the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil.

We want these values to be fully lived, meaning that we believe they are important within the school community and will also be important throughout life.

We learn about these through our assemblies, PSHE lessons, circle time and links made throughout our curriculum.
