Children's Mental Health Week

This week we are dedicating time to support the mental health of our children.

Of course, whilst it is great that we are holding whole school assemblies and using lesson time to teach the children about mental health, it is what we do every day that will make the difference.

You might not know that we have a wide range of staff that are mental health first aiders, that Mr Riordan is our mental health champion and that Mrs Jones is our link governor.

This year all KS2 classes have benefited from a programme of 6 lessons to support mental health.

Each class has a worry box.

We run intervention groups to support children with wellbeing and all classes take part in forest school sessions.

As well as this we can refer families to other agencies or signpost parents to additional support.

Mrs Sargent is taking part ins some specialist training  this year and is coordinating this work with children.

We have a page dedicated to mental health where you can find out more information and support. Click on the Parents Zone and then wellbeing section.
