Battle of Britain Day 2020

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain - we have placed the RAF flag on our gates as a mark of respect.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Men and women from Britain, Europe and across the Commonwealth served in the RAF during World War Two. There was a wide range of roles with everyone involved playing a vital part in the defence of Britain. Many inventions and technological advancements from the period helped to success and are still in use today.

Having won the battle in the sky above the South West of Britain the RAF prevented the invasion of Britain.

Today we give thanks to those who served and remember all those who lost their lives in the skies above Britain and on the ground in service of our country.
