Portishead Primary Voices!

Portishead Primary’s Year 6 Pupils Launch Their Own Podcast: Portishead Primary Voices

Year 6 pupils at Portishead Primary School have been busy behind the microphones this term, creating their very own school podcast - Portishead Primary Voices. The project, proudly produced by the children themselves, gives pupils a platform to share stories, celebrate achievements, and connect with the wider community.

Each episode is planned, written, and presented by the Year 6 team, who interview special guests, deliver school news, and discuss topics that matter to their classmates - from kindness and teamwork to local heroes and school events.

The children have also helped to create the show’s catchy jingle and slogan:
“Our school, our stories, this is Portishead Primary Voices!”

Mrs Lucy Sargent, headteacher, said:

“The pupils have shown fantastic teamwork, creativity and confidence. It’s a brilliant way for them to use their voices and share what makes Portishead Primary such a special place.”

The podcast will be released monthly, with themes linked to key events in the school calendar. Future episodes will include interviews with community figures such as local MP Sadiq El Hassan and former professional footballer Leroy Rosenior.

Viewers can tune in via the school website, and they can find us on our YouTube channel: Portishead Primary Voices.

“We’ve loved learning how to plan and create our podcast,” said one Year 6 presenter. “It feels amazing to know people will hear our voices and the stories from our school.”

Portishead Primary Voices -  created by the pupils, for the pupils - is set to become a highlight of school life and a source of pride for the whole community.
