PPS Achieves Second Anti-Bullying Award in a Week!

Today we were very pleased to hear that the work our anti-bullying ambassadors have completed this year has been recognised once again!

"Portishead Primary School have shown commitment and enthusiasm in their efforts to make their pupils safe from bullying.  This is the 3rd time the school has achieved the BIG Award for Excellence in Challenging Bullying.  The school has anti-bullying ambassadors who are trained to help any pupils experiencing friendship or bullying issues.  They have an up to date and robust anti-bullying policy, and deliver various awareness raising activities throughout the school year, which include parents workshops and Safer Internet Day, to ensure that pupils understanding what bullying is, and what to do if it should happen.  Bullying can happen in any setting, it is therefore important that schools have a wide range of anti-bullying strategies in place to work pro-actively to keep pupils safe and happy.  I am so pleased to award this school yet again for their hard work. " Val Mcfarlane, Director, Bullying Intervention Group.

We are so proud of the children and staff for their work on this important part goof our school ethos!
