Parent Tours of the School -Including SEND Information
New EYFS Intake
The school offers around 10 school tours between September and December for parents who are considering applying for a Reception intake place the following September. These are almost always delivered by the headteacher and include an informal presentation, a walk of the school and an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Parents of Children with additional Needs looking for an EYFS Place
We ask that parents of children looking to apply for a place in Reception sign up for a tour to come and hear about our philosophy and ethos and visit the school site to view our facilities. You will be able to have a brief chat with the headteacher at the end but this should only be considered as a first step.
Following the visit or after the tour we recommend that you then make a second appointment to come back to the school and meet the inclusion leader who can discuss in depth how we would aim to meet your child's needs. This will give you all of the information you should need to make an informed decision about whether our school is a suitable place for your child. Some parents may feel that step one provides sufficient information to help make a decision but should be mindful that the opportunity to speak to the headteacher will be limited at the end of the tour and is not in private.
Parents looking to move schools in other Year Groups
The school offers a meeting with the head and tour of the school to parents where there is a space available in a year group and a parent has applied or is considering applying for that space. Unfortunately we can not offer tours of the school to everyone who would like a general tour when there is no space. If your child has additional needs, when you call to make the appointment please let the office know this and they will arrange a tour when the inclusion lead is available to meet you.
