Kit List for Morfa Bay

The following is a guide of the kind of things that you will require for a week at Morfa Bay.  Several of the activities are outdoors, and will include getting wet and muddy.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING IS CLEARLY LABELLED – CHILDREN WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOOKING AFTER THEIR OWN CLOTHES AND BELONGINGS.

· Waterproof anorak or cagoule
· Warm sweatshirts / jumpers – (some activities require long sleeves and trousers)
· Two or three pairs of tracksuit bottoms
· Two or three pairs of shoes / trainers (including old trainers or wellies for wet/muddy activities)
· T-shirts
· Shorts
· Two large towels
· Flip flops / shoes that can be slipped on easily
· Underwear / socks
· Toilet bag and toiletries
· Sunscreen
· Sun hat / cap
· A torch (optional)
· Two or three carrier bags for wet or dirty clothes
· One small plastic bottle / flask for carrying a drink on activities
· Camera (optional – please ensure that your children knows how to use their camera and load / change film)
· A stamped addressed postcard to be sent home at the beginning of the week
· Clothes etc for disco
· One or two pairs of pyjamas
· Swimming costume / trunks
· Bedding – a sleeping bag or quilt and a pillow; an extra blanket optional.  This is to be packed in a black bin liner, clearly labelled
· Tie-up black bin liner for bedding on return journey
· A teddy
· Mug for hot chocolate

 

 


Pocket money
A maximum of £10 (in change please) to be kept with your child in a purse / wallet.  Children will be responsible for looking after their own pocket money and budgeting for the week.  There may be opportunities to buy tuck at the centre, and we may have an opportunity to purchase souvenirs.

Games / books
Children may bring books, comics, magazines for reading.  They may also bring a handheld DS or similar device.  They must be responsible for the safekeeping of any games.

Mobile phones
Please do not send your child with a mobile phone.  We will be in contact with school on a daily basis and Mr Scriven will let you know how we are getting on.  The children will have an opportunity to write to you during the week.  In the event of an emergency we will contact you directly or through school as appropriate.

Jewellery
Children may bring jewellery to be worn at the disco, but otherwise they must not wear jewellery at any other time during the week, with the exception of wearing stud earrings to bed.
