Year 3

Learning and achieving together

Year 3 Summer Terms 5 and 6 2012

Dear Parents,

Welcome back after the Easter holiday.
Here are some reminders for the Summer Terms that we hope are useful.

Homework
Each week your child is expected to spend 10 minutes each evening reading his/her selected book. We would very much appreciate you listening to your child read aloud and sign their reading record with a suitable comment. Some discussion about what they have read is always a useful consolidation exercise and improves their understanding and enjoyment, even anticipating what comes next!

In addition, every Thursday some written homework will be set, relevant to the work we have been doing in the week. Also, times tables should be learnt for regular tests.

P.E
Monday: Inside PE for Columbus Class
Tuesday: Inside PE for Nightingale class.
Thursday: Outside PE for Columbus and Nightingale Class.

Please ensure that your children have the appropriate clothing and footwear in school for these lessons – a white t-shirt, navy/black shorts and daps/trainers.

Trips and Visits
We will be booking some visits and talks that link to our topic of Alive and Kicking (Living Things). We will send more information home when arrangements have been made.
Once again we look forward to working in partnership with you to support the progress of your children over Terms 5 and 6.

Best Wishes,
The Year 3 Team,
Mrs Essex and Mrs Jarvis
