Year 2 Spring Term 2012


Dear Parents,

Welcome back after a lovely Christmas holiday.  Please find attached a summary of the main learning areas this term and below are some reminders for you.

Homework

Children should be reading at least every night and parents/carers should write that they have heard them read in their yellow Reading Record. We can’t stress enough how important this is.
Phonics homework will still go home on a Friday and should be handed in the following week.
New Maths Games!
Children will still receive a brand new maths game to play with an adult on a Thursday which can be kept all week and returned the following Thursday.  Please look after these and let us know if there are any pieces missing or any that get lost. 

P.E

Tuesday and Friday   - Penguin Class 2LP
Monday and Friday  - Dolphin Class 2SJ

Please ensure that your children have shorts for outdoor and indoor PE but still have long trousers for outdoors in case of colder weather and remember to name each item that your child brings to school.

Targets

All children will have individual Literacy target and a Numeracy target. These are individual targets based on assessment of their previous work that are discussed with the children at the beginning of the term.  If you would like more information, please speak to your class teacher.
