Learning Mentor

Our Learning Mentor is Mrs K Mcllwraith

The Learning Mentor is available to offer support and advice to parents and children.  Mrs Mcllwraith works with individual and groups of children to help them to overcome any barriers to learning.  She works to help children improve behaviour, develop their self-esteem and confidence and helps with issues that will support their learning.  She supports children with either behaviour, emotional or social problems both at home or at school.

Mrs Mcllwraith is available to support children during both lunchtimes and playtimes.  She is available in the small hall during lunchtimes to support children who are having problems and helps to organise activities for the children to do. She listens to the children and has a range of strategies to help them to deal with friendship problems or low-esteem and confidence.

Mrs Mcllwraith supports both children and parents and can support with issues at home due to family separations/divorce or breavement.  If you have just joined the school then Mrs Mcllwraith can provide you with information and people to contact who can help you to settle into the area and the school.  Mrs Mcllwraith will arrange to meet with parents separately or together with the class teacher.  To arrange an appointment with Mrs Mcllwraith either ask the class teacher or contact the school office.
