Essential Advantageous
Qualifications Cache Level 2 Playworker Certificate or working towards a childcare qualification
Experience At least 2 years working with children Successful previous/existing experience of working with children in an After School / Holiday Club setting
Professional development A desire to acquire futher expertise/training in working with children Relevant training linked to working with children
Personal & Professional Qualities Ability to work as part of a team

Post: After School Club Playworker

General Responsibilities
1) Comply with and be familiar with all the club’s policies and procedures.
2) Report any incidents/accidents to the Manager and any issues concerning discipline or health and safety.
3) To accept supervision from a member of the management committee and Club Manager.
Activities
1) Collect children from their classrooms and escort them safely to the club ensuring they have all their belongings.
2) Contribute to the planning and preparation of activities
3) Assist the Manager in drawing up monthly/weekly programmes encouraging children’s input.
4) Supervise and assist the children in their activities throughout the session.
5) Ensure the children receive adequate refreshments.
6) Ensure the activities are safe, stimulating and children-centred.
7) Clear up 15 minutes before the end of each session encouraging the children to help.
Administration
1) Enter children in the register on arrival and ensure that they leave the premises with the adult designated on the registration form.
2) Contribute to the filing in of the Log Book and Accident/Discipline books with relevant information.
