Relationships

A successful school is built upon well-founded relationships.

OUTCOME Socially and emotionally confident individuals who live safely and healthily.  

AIMS

Our aim is that:

a)   All will be safe and encouraged to be healthy.

b)   All are trusted, happy, and confident so as to achieve high self-esteem.

c)   All within the school community are positively and mutually valued and respected.

d)   Views, opinions and beliefs of others and their cultures are respected.

e)   Honesty and respect for truth is expected.

f)    Courtesy and politeness is extended to and from all fellow pupils, staff and visitors.

g)   Everyone is treated fairly and with equality.

h)   All are tolerant of, and sensitive to the needs of others, treating them, as they would themselves expect to be treated.

i)     Individuality, creativity and spontaneity are respected and understood.

j)     All follow and understand the need for a social and moral code. 

PROVISION

These aims are delivered through the following quality provision:

A senior leader has responsibility for Pastoral Care, linked to the Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes.

A happy, safe, secure and structured atmosphere and environment.

Staff are good role models and promote high standards for acceptable behaviour and caring attitudes.

The Behaviour Management Policy promotes positive attitudes and values.

Our zero tolerance of bullying is supported by clear strategies for dealing with it.

Peer support & development is encouraged through “Buddies” and the School Council.

The Learning Mentor supports vulnerable children’s social & emotional well being.

The Personal, Health, Social and Citizenship Education and Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning schemes of work reflect the schools’ aims.

We are a “Healthy School”.

Achievement and success is celebrated and shared when appropriate.
