Do you know what your children are doing on the internet at home? We are concerned that it would appear that many children have computers, laptops or webcams in their bedrooms. Does your child use social networking sites? Do they know everyone who they have added as friends or are they talking to strangers? Does your child have a facebook account? It is against the terms and conditions for children to use Facebook under the age of thirteen.
There is a group that has been organised to support parents with their English and provide support in the community. It is generally held on a Thursday so if you know anyone who would welcome this type of support please do let them know and encourage them to contact the Portishead Children’s Centre for further details.
‘A Taste of the Orient’ change to the Menu on Thursday May 17th. We are delighted that our Caterers Edwards and Ward have arranged with Mel our school cook that today the children who have packed lunches were able to sample some hot food tasters (gammon and apple crumble) which we hope they enjoyed and will encourage them to maybe try a hot dinner once in a while.
Do you have a garage or loft full of toys which your children have outgrown? Would you like to make some money and benefit the children in school too? On Saturday 26th May, Friends of School will be holding a Toy Sale. This will be a table top type sale and the cost of hiring a table will be £12.
