Oxfam Online Hub

Last year, Oxfam launched an Online Shop in Old Mill Road, just off Wyndham Way, Portishead, one of only two nationally. It is proving so successful that it is looking to recruit more volunteers locally to add to its 50 strong base.  Volunteers come from all backgrounds and young people who are 25 or under can work towards a national volunteering award. 

Hours are flexible, training is given and the roles will provide new skills, valuable work experience and the opportunity to meet new people. The income from the online shop www.oxfam.org.uk/shop) supports Oxfam’s work in 70 countries worldwide.

Examples of volunteering opportunities include:

Sorting and selecting the best stock to be sold online; 

Photographing the items to maximize their saleability;

Researching and writing accurate and interesting descriptions of the products and pricing them;

Picking and packing orders and preparing them to be sent to the customer
