Christmas Fair 2011
The FOS committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Christmas Fair. There was a wonderful Christmassy atmosphere and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Outside it felt like a Christmas Market with the chestnut man, the mulled
wine and cider, the BBQ and the band playing carols.
Inside all classrooms were packed with people doing all sorts of things. In the hall were many stalls offering a variety of goods and of course the singing club singing carols and children playing Christmas music on their instruments. The raffle had enormous prizes; each single one of the 10 could have been 1st prize!
The firework display was the best ever according to many people. On top of this all we managed to make a fantastic amount in excess of £4000!!
There are so many people who contributed and helped it is impossible to thank them all in person. We are grateful to everyone who helped us making this event into such an enormous success! You all know who you are!

Summer Fair 2011
WOW—£5,113.37 raised by FoS at this year’s Summer Fair !!!
A massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported this year’s record breaking fair. Especially to the FoS committee (Yoka and team) who worked tirelessly to ensure a fantastic evening was had by everyone.
What more can we say! THANK YOU
Happy School Bags
A grand total of 504kg of clothes were collected in happy bags today and £274.40 was given to the school as a result.
The last collection raised £224.10. This money will be used by the Friends of the School for equipment that will benefit all children. Well done and thank you to everyone.
Ladies Night
Great British Week
Friends of School funds have managed to donate funds to support Great British Week, this has come about because you as parents support our various fund raising events so well and therefore the children are benefiting directly. A massive thank you to you all for your support.
Mother's Day
Many thanks to everyone who gave or bought a tray. We hope that you enjoyed receiving your gift. £244.86 was raised in fifteen minutes and will be used by Friends of the School to purchase items that will be of benefit to all the children in Portishead Primary School.
Get your thinking caps on for a similar event for Father's Day in June!
Quiz Night
A Quiz Night took place on Friday 18th March 2011 and everyone enjoyed a fun evening. The evening raised £690.03. Also £100.90 was collected and has been sent to Comic Relief. Many thanks to everyone who helped organise and supported this event.
Invitation Books
The commission raised from the sales of the Invitation Books is £405.10. A fantastic effort by
everyone with only two people not returning their books or sending in the money (the use of these books has now be de-activated). A massive thank you to Cath Taylor for her efficiency and hard work in co-ordinating this fundraiser.
