Netball & Tag Rugby Festival
Well Done to all the children in Year 6 who participated in the Gordano Netball & Tag Rugby Festival on Tuesday.
Our school contributed 4 out of the 9 tag rugby teams and 5 out of the 7 netball teams. We were runners-up in each festival.
All the children played very well and were a credit to the school. Well done and thanks to all.

Football 2012
We would like to congratulate all the boys who represented the school in the county finals of the All England Football Competition. To have got that far is a fabulous achievement and the boys were commended for their sportsmanship. Here is a report written by some of the team;
We arrived at Bridgwater College at 9.30am
Our manager, Alfie’s Dad Mark Gardner was responsible for the team on the day.
Our group was group 2 which other teams were in. Our first match was against Bishops Hull and we successfully won 2:1 with 2 goals from centre back.
Our second game against St Josephs from Somerset we unfortunately lost 1:0 with a mistake in our own box.
Our third game against Westfield and we easily won with a goal!
Our final group stage game was the decider on whether we would go through to the semi final, which we did, with a comfortable 2:0 win.
Here it was, the semi-final had come to Portishead. The joy had to last didn’t it, no it didn’t. Our chance was over as soon as they scored in the final minute of extra time. 2:1 to Hewish.
Portishead Fantasy would like to thank everyone in charge of organising the event, also a special thank you to the parents and referees and our very own guider on the day. The best thank you goes to our manager Mark Gardner for the the help. Portishead Fantasy will fight on!
Portishead Primary School would like to thank Mark Gardner for giving up so much time to coach and manage the team and to the other parents who were able to support and encourage the boys.
Swimathon 2011
Congratulations and many thanks to all the children who took part in last week’s 15th Annual Swimathon. It was a great success as usual and I was very impressed with the children’s
enthusiasm and commitment. Thanks also to parents for supporting your children’s efforts and to Mr. Butters and Mrs Essex for helping to organise the children on the day. Could
all sponsor money be returned to school as soon as possible, preferably by next Wednesday.
The money raised will be put towards new wet play games for each class. Cheques should be
made payable to ‘Portishead Primary School’.
