Accessibility

We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone and we have an ongoing programme of making useful updates and improvements that follow the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Our website has been designed with the following in mind:

  • It can be used at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
  • Text can be increased or decreased in size by using the "view" option in your browser.
  • Page structure is conveyed using header elements.
  • Images that convey important information have alternative text.
  • Most links are described logically to make sense out of context.

For those using screen readers, we have provided skip links that enable users to jump to the main content. Please note, these 'skip links' will not be visible to those using a standard browser, except under certain circumstances (such as disabling stylesheets).

Viewing PDF Documents

Some of our content is provided in the form of PDF (portable document format) files. In order to view these documents through your browser you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe also provides some additional information on making information more accessible, this includes an online tool for converting PDFs to text:
