Welcome to Portishead Primary School!
We are a large primary school at the heart of a growing local community. Overlooking the beautiful marina, we have an architecturally stunning building, but it is the children and the learning that we are most proud of.
Our school is child centred and community minded, with a commitment to every child achieving their full potential. We are proud of the fantastic academic results we achieve each year but prouder still of the partnership between pupils, parents and staff that make this possible. Central to this achievement is the understanding that we all do our best when we are happy, feel valued and act as part of a community.
We are currently engaged in a curriculum redesign that reflects the philosophy that high standards are built on a broad and balanced curriculum which excites and engages.
We offer a range of opportunities through lessons, trips, visits and clubs to develop a a genuine love of learning and the key skills, knowledge and dispositions to be happy and successful individuals.
There will be some changes to our outside environment that will see a school garden develop. This will overlook the Marina so that it can be enjoyed by the whole community. In addition there will be more playground equipment and shade for our pupils and a redeveloped outside area for our Reception classes.
We hope that you find our website useful and if you are visiting the school as a prospective parent or are an established community member, please have a browse and see why we are so proud to be working alongside such a special learning community.
Please contact us via the school office or send an email, if we can be of help in any way or if you have any questions or queries. Click here to read our school prospectus.
