Do you believe in angels? Jolaurabi School Choir Visit.

Today was a very special day in the life of our school.

We were fortunate enough to be visited by the school choir and volunteers who set up and run Jolaurabi School and Orphanage in Kenya.

We listened to them sing and sang back to them as their warm smiles, open hearts and the spirit of friendship danced through us to the African rythms that echoed in the school hall.

Our school council reps took buddies up to class for some circle time activities. Next they shared laughter over a school dinner of spag bol and salad.

After refreshments the choir joined the school on the playground, playing games with the coaches from Future Stars and making the most of the Autumn sunshine. It was a very special lunchtime.

In the afternoon Year 3 walked to Gordano with the children to join in a Portishead Schools combined choir. A truly magical experience.

I am sure that those of you lucky enough to get tickets will have enjoyed a very special concert this evening.

Today has been one of the highlights of my career in education. A truly humbling experience to meet the children and volunteers of such a special school and a very proud day as our headteacher.

Thanks to Tanya Marriott for arranging and Mrs Payne for sorting out the singing.

Non-Uniform tomorrow. Please give generously.

This morning we were touched by angels and our hearts and voices sang in the spirit of love and frienship.
